We are currently seeking an experienced Commercial Concrete Estimator with a strong background in commercial concrete construction to join our team. This role requires expertise in estimating, project pursuit, and collaboration across teams to ensure the successful execution of projects.

Job Description: 

As a Commercial Concrete Estimator, you will be responsible for estimating multiple commercial concrete projects, including Tilt-Up and Heavy Structural. Your role will include estimating project costs, conducting internal preparation meetings upon award, and maintaining strong communication with clients and team members. In this role, building and maintaining client relationships is essential.

You will digitize drawings, perform quantity takeoffs using takeoff software, and input data into pricing spreadsheets. You will play a key role in meeting project deadlines and ensuring the accuracy of estimates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take off quantities from drawings and digitize them using takeoff software, inputting quantities into pricing spreadsheets.
• Meet with Field Operations and the Safety Department to develop sequencing, formwork, budget, and logistics plans.
• Communicate regularly with clients to ensure project plans align with their expectations.
• Develop and explain critical path schedules, including the logic behind sequencing.
• Meet with formwork suppliers to optimize efficiency in the construction cycle.
• Discuss rebar and posttension quantities and variances with subcontractors.
• Analyze proposals and scopes of work from clients and subcontractors.
• Lead internal estimate review meetings and prepare presentation materials for clients, including pour plans, formwork plans, and 3D models.
• Price and reconcile drawing changes as project drawings evolve.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop efficient solutions for complex structures.
• Share “lessons learned” and solicit input from other team members.
• Attend postbid interviews and occasionally walk job sites to gather feedback for future estimates.

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience in commercial concrete construction, including Tilt-Up and Heavy Structural
• Bachelor’s degree in Building Construction or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while handling administrative duties.
• Detail oriented and able to thrive in a fast paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle large files and confidential data.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams).
• Proficiency with estimating software
• Ability to visualize 2D drawings in 3D and effectively explain your methods.
• A positive attitude and a drive to learn more about the technical aspects of concrete construction.
